Exceptional color, pose, detail and exposure, Nestor! The eye area is very sharp, while the feet are already beyond the DOF even at f/9, you must have been really close.

Not to worry, the Shrike will always be the most paid attention to in terms of birding. The reason being they are the first sign that the migratory birds are coming. They are now on the sideline because there are many more birds to be photograph. Notice how plumb they have become. Reminds me of the song "Temptation". Well done Nestor. Mabuhay.

brown shrike,we also called these "tarat na maingay" ahahahahha sounds wierd,,,we haved two different type of tarat that we called, the one is the yellow vented bulbul, and another is these brown shrike,,we called the brown shirke "tarat na maingay" because the sound it makes very loud than the yellow vented bulbul, yellow vented we called these only "tarat" thats way we can distinguished easier because it sounds was more gentle and more sweet than brown shrike... and one thing i observed when the month of september to january we can see many brown shrike here...but when comes the month of february to august, they seen but not too many,,,anyone know why?
