We have an interesting thread on the 7D vs 40D vs 5D mk2. I have a 50D and its sensor is similar to the 7D. JP, Romy and Neon suggested we go full frame. We got the 5D mk2 a few days ago and I could not be more pleased. I am really looking forward to using this camera. This is an early morning shot in Candaba. Yellow BitternCanon 5D mk2, Canon 500mm, 1.4x tc., ISO 160, 1/400, f9, window support I saw this fellow in Makiling. I imagined where I wanted him to land for the best light. Then I set up and waited for the right moment,....then click. Red Crested MalkohaCanon 5D mk2, Canon 500mm, 1.4x tc., ISO 500, 1/160, F6.3, Tripod

Thanks Edu, the images are really sharper. In the first image I sharpened a very very small section only. The second image was not even touched by unsharp mask. No need to sharpen anymore. Makes post processing very easy.
Thanks for nice comments Den, Romy, Godo.
Rey, thanks for the advice regarding the camera during our party. You have had both the 50D and 5d mk2 so your comments were really informative.

I don't know what took you so long to decide on it but I guess you will soon be convince to get the long lens that you really want. The 500 can easily be handled by Sylvia. The proof of the pie is in the pudding as the saying goes. Well done Tonji. Mabuhay.

Thanks Bobby, yup it seems like a very good step up.
Thanks Toto, William and Mark I can't wait to find more birds.
Thanks Ely, Hehe I was very happy with the pictures from my 50D so I did not upgrade. But after using the 5D mk2 I think I am a convert to the full frame sensor.
