Went to Candaba with Aphine today and met up with Tonji, JP and Martin. Thanks to Tonji who called me over when he heard the SRT. And I thought I had a clean shot.... Siberian Rubythroat - Male ( Luscinia calliope) 5DM2 + 600 mm f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f11, 1/400 sec, ISO 1000, Manual exposure, Tripod-Gimbal support. @ 9.47mA foreground grass leaf was right in front of, all places, its face!!

Thanks, Ka Mastah, Toto, Edu, Gabs and Bong. The species is not a lifer, I have a docu shot before. But this is my first time to shoot a male. It looked and sounded at first like the female but we heard and never saw a male, only when I was processing that I discover that it's a sub adult male.

Nice picture Neon. You barely had time to take 3 to 5 pics. I think you had a few seconds tops and you even gave the others a chance to take pics.

Nice one Neon! In the WBCP trip reports, there was a Siberian Rubythroat that was heard only at South Forbes Golf & Leisure Club in Silang, Cavite on Dec 4. There must be others around!
