Got this lifer earlier today at the enchanted mountain of Makiling with Bert, Doc Mando and Mark. Fairy Maria must have allowed her beautiful pets to be photographed. Scale-feathered Malkoha, Mt. Makiling Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L, Manfrotto 755XB/Gimbal, 1x2 pounds "rice" bag Shot @ f5.6, 1/30", ISO640, 50% pixels wasted, some cloning of invasive twigs Thanks to bert for the ride!

The very elusive scale feathered malkoha and looks like it posed for you too Congratulations on the lifer Toto. Isn't this bird just beautiful. I've seen this so many times already and every single time I get really excited to see it.

This is one of my favorite birds. Its color combination and the iridescent blue comb that runs from the back of its neck to the top of its head and down to its throat on a white background is incomparable with any other bird. Well done Toto. Mabuhay.

THanks to all you guys for wonderful comments. I was just lucky i guess This beautiful bird is so hard to photograph I only had 2 decent frames out of a dozen and I have to clone out an offending twig. Aside from this bird loving low light environment, it seems to be moving all the time. Hope to get a better shot of this beauty next time.
