Yes! after 2 and a half years hoping, praying, scouting, hiding in a hide, hoping that the common kingfisher at the hardin would come closer for a close-up picture, last Monday it did!!Without fanfare and totally unexpected it just perched right beside the zebra dove I was photographing. Common Kingfisher, common migrant Canon 40D Canon FD 300mm 2.8L 2x canon TC f around 7, 1/320 iso 400, on a tripod. Here is the lucky zebra dove as well Canon 40D Canon FD 300mm 2.8L iso 320 f7 1/250 iso 400 on gimbal tripod Cheers Chito

Congratulations!!! Your patience and perseverance has paid off. After having seen you bird in Candaba, I am not surprised to see the result. I know your heart must be speeding at a 100 miles an hour but your demeanor is as calm and cool as a cucumber. Well done Doc. Mabuhay.

wowwwww very nice very close......i have seen that birds,,,the fisrt bird it is common found along the river with many trees in grasses on side,, ,i always seen that bird catching some small fish like gurame and small tilapia,,the 2nd pic also common,zebra dove we also called this bato-bato,,,i dont know what do you called these.
