Due to the excitement of being able to stalk this bird so close and hurrying to get a shot before it flies off, I clipped the tip of the tail. White-throated Kingfisher ( Halcyon smyrnensis) 5DM2 + 600 L f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f4, 1/8 sec., ISO 640, MLU-LV, Remote shutter, Tripod-Gimbal support. But I'm sure I got the whole bird in the HD video. ;D

This is exactly the kind of picture that I like to take. I have taken in my estimate over 20,000 pictures and not even one like that. I am still hoping that one day I will have a lifelike picture like this, that you have so successfully portrayed on this thread. Well done Neon. Mabuhay.

Thanks Guys!! Really needed this sortie before I'm sent to prison again!! Bad boy!! Incrredible shot neon! May I ask how you metered while using Av? @ Paolo, I used LV=Live view, manual mode, so the exposure metering is out of the screen, "what you see is what you get" Incredible sharpness, Neon. :oYou must be really near it. @ William, the EXIF data said it's 11.6m, yes it's way inside its comfort zone. Here's another one with a perch and BG I've been dreaming of always. Now I have a picture of it..hehehe 5DM2 + 600 L f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f4, 1/4 sec., ISO 640, MLU-LV, Remote shutter, Tripod-Gimbal support. Distance = 19.0m

A couple of exceptional captures, partner..... seems the colors of your recent postings are exceptionally pleasant, any new PP workflow? Thanks Ka Mastah, Before I use to rely mostly doing the adjustments in PS but with this new set of images I did it in ACR, crop in PS and apply a little USM sharpening then save as jpeg. The over sharpened area I erase (50% opacity) using layers, with the untouched photo as BG layer. It helps a lot if the exposure is spot on, no more adjustments in ACR. ;D. I tend to over expose my shots before when I rely more on how the shot is exposed by looking at the cameras' monitor which I find it to be displayed under exposed, therefore the need for me to increase the exposure and blowing it. Displayed with a histogram helped a lot. ;D
