An intense ray of mid-afternoon sunlight pierces a thin section of the rainclouds as I went down Kennon Road, just outside Baguio City, on my way home to Manila after four days of birding the Cordilleras. I asked birding buddy Arnold to stop immediately, then I grabbed my UWA, ran out of the vehicle, and took this snapshot while light rain pelted my unarmored scalp. ;D Elev. 980 m, BAGUIO CITY, 40D + Sigma 10-20, 20 mm, f/8, 1/125 sec, ISO 200, hand held, resized full frame:Romy

I have one of these too. This one was taken in Candaba last January 20, 2008. If I'm not mistaken, Rey took a similar shot of this one too.

Thanks, JP. Superb shot, Tina! These light shows are awe-inspiring when seen by the naked eye, without the dynamic range limitation of DSLR sensors. Even when I already got my shots and raindrops got bigger, I lingered in the area for a few minutes more to enjoy the visual feast.

Thanks a lot Romy. Yes, I most definitely agree with you - sceneries like these, always take my breath away.
If I had to stop to appreciate the wonderful sceneries that we see in the less populated areas of our country, I don't think I'd ever get back home !!!! HeHEHehEHehHEehE

Here's another one from the same spot. TURN TO THE LIGHT. A jeepney speeds down Kennon Road while the heavens put on a light show. [ Elev. 980 m, BAGUIO CITY, 40D + Sigma 10-20, 10 mm, 1/125 sec, f/9, ISO 200, hand held, cropped to 72% then resized]
