Just got home from a birding sortie in Candaba. Combine two rookies (me and gabsbuluran) plus two Candaba veterans (snapfinger and bertm), throw in an event of getting lost and taking the San Miguel Bulacan - Paliqui scenic route to Candaba and you get a wodnerful day of birding, laughs, lifers, more laughs, more lifers!!! Am still post-processing the images but here is one of my lifers today.. What seems to look like a non-breeding Pheasant-tailed Jacana!!! Nikon D90 + CDR-King tripod ;D

Thanks tukayo.. here's a couple more. I had so much fun with the warblers yesterday and it is really nice to see them quite plump! Camera: Nikon D90 Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 100 Handheld (using a tripod in stalking warblers and gergones is ill-advised) haha!

Thanks Sir Neon. We were also wishing you were there. Our lenses could not reach the wild ducks as they were too far away. But there were thousands! The running joke was at 10megapixles, and at the distance the ducks were at, we could have fit 10 ducks per pixel

Striated grassbird under the early morning sun.. Camera: Nikon D90 Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 100 Car window support Took this pic while we were lost. If I didn't know better, I would think we got lost and went through Paralaya. There was a loooooong concrete road that turned to a dirtroad with ricefields on the east side and mudflats on the other. There were hundreds of chestnut munias, egrets, herons, terns, and swallows. Also spotted what looks like a Wood Sandpiper (have pic but poor quality, will try to see if I can post later), a HUGE gray heron, bushchats and of course these grassbirds.

Purple Heron Camera: Nikon D90 Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 400 Car window support with engine running and three other birdnuts shaking the car. hahahaha!

Thanks Mark! That's all I can post. All the other species I got are 'unpostable' haha! I do have a grebe, black bittern, BCNH, Yellow bittern, cinnamon bittern, wood sandpiper but all are poor quality images.
