My favorite kinds of bird pictures are the ones that show the bird doing something -- eating, building a nest -- just behaving naturally and going about its regular routine, apparently undisturbed by the photographer. It's great when I get to photograph moments like that because it probably also means that the bird did not get alarmed and fly, run, or swim away and that it just "hung out" for a long time. I love quiet moments like that! All of these pictures were taken last week in Candaba. Little Grebe couple with babies and a fishf8, iso100, 1/200 with 2xtc, from window Little Ringed Plover with a grub (?)f5.6, iso 100, 1/800 with 1.4tc, from window Red Turtle Dove with a twig Its mate was in a nest f4, iso 100, 1/160, with 1.4 tc, from window White Breasted Waterhen with attittude f5.6, iso200, 1/125 with 1.4 tc, from window Camera: Canon 50d + 300 2.8

I am with you on that. They are some of my favorite things. There is nothing like taking pictures of a birds that comes naturally to them. Like eating, gathering nesting materials, looking for food, and just enjoying themselves as you have portrayed. Well done Sylvia. Mabuhay.

Thank you for the really, really nice comments! Thanks Bong, Toto, Alain, Edu, Mark, JP and Ely! I forgot to mention that the Turtle Dove picture is nearly full-frame. I just took a bit off the top and left side.
