I've always wanted to shoot waders/shorebirds at a low angle but the opportunity seldom comes. When Tonji and I went to Tara Island, the moment happened for me. I immediately went down on the sand and started shooting this plover. I think i can still improve it some more if the opportunity presents itself again.. Looks wonderful! Did you have sort of cloth to spread of the ground or did you just shoot laying on the sand?

Ok I saw this in action. JP was lying on the wet sand hand holding his heavy rig. He may have even been lower than the plover! I thought I was really into bird photography but JP showed me a different level that day! I wish I had my smaller lens with me so I could take the picture.
He was covered in sand the whole morning even when we were walking in the mangroves. Man vs wild indeed.
I got so distracted by JP's total commitment to the shot that I overexposed my own pics and burned the details! Haha.
Great shots JP! Superb.

These shots blew me awayyy!! Such professional and polished-looking shots! I really like the first one, with just the sky and the sand. It looks like it was shot in the desert.

You are a photographer of a different dimension. Not that its wrong but it can only happen to a man with an imagination that is different from others. This is what makes your picture so outstanding. Well done JP. Mabuhay.
