Hi Guys, here is a series of shots of a whiskered tern I got at Candaba with the help of the 1DMk2 and a 300mm and 1.4 TC combi. To be frank, I just blasted away and was surprised the ID was able to keep track. "There it is, I have to take the plunge" Canon 1dmk2 300 mm F4 IS 1.4 TC Kenko F8 1/4000 iso 320 Handheld "Got it, got it !!" same settings "Oops I talked to early" same setting .01 secs later "Tsk tsk its now water over the fish" I hoped you enjoyed it. Cheers Chito

I was wondering what fish it was, as I looked different from the usual catfish. I think I have read somewhere that this janitor fish were destroying some of our wetlands fuana and fishponds as indeed this fish is not palatable but consumes a lot of resources. In that case may the proper caption for the 3rd pic would be "Phew!, janitor!" Thanks Tonji and Binot.

I like the entire series because it takes time, patience, and timing to be able to capture a sequence such as this. I like the second picture best. If this was made possible because of the 1D series, this is the camera for bird sport photographer. I like the second picture best because it shows the tern has the fish securely in its beak. Beautiful series. Tonji is right. The janitor fish has a very tough scale and when the tern realize that he drop it off. Very well done Doc. Mabuhay.

Interesting series Doc. Indeed, looks like the tern rejected the janitor.

Thanks Ron, Toto and Ely, Well, I am not going to start a janitor versus catfish controversy-bottom line is it is a fish . Thanks for the comments.
