I had always thought that the 50D was a better tracker than than the 5DMK2 - but I found out that this was true only if I used a 1.4X TC on the Canon 400mm F/5.6 L on the 5D. Today I tried the 5D2 with the 400 f/5.6 bare and went to Jugan for some test/practice shots. Guess what, the 5DMK2 can really track after all! :-) First, the bigger birds at Shutter Priority (1/1500 SEC.) Auto ISO: Little Heron: Whiskered Tern: Then the faster, more challenging Barn Swallows: And the ET Sparrows for the hell of it:
