Wooooow. Nice shot bro. But seems not a common emerald dove. ANybody knows this dove? Here is my share. When dennis and I saw this, we are in a very difficult position. The bird is on the right side of the road and too late for me to manuever the vehicle so we decided to just take whatever shot we could manage as it might flew if we move the vehicle. After knowing that Dennis got a better shot, we decided to move back the vehicle a bit and true enough as soon as we moved, the bird flew. Here is my ugly share to help on the ID. hahah.

Congratulations on the lifer If I'm not mistaken, it's a black chinned fruit dove and definitely not an emerald dove.

You're welcome but like I said, the key word is... If I am not mistaken Let's wait for Steve or maybe IDOL Romy to confirm it just to be absolutely sure

Very nice lifer, Den and Toto! It could be a Black-chinned FD indeed, but the dark tip of the bill puzzles me. Let's wait for a confirmation from Steve or others. Meantime, for reference, here are front and back views of a BCFD from Makiling.

Very nice lifer, Den and Toto! It could be a Black-chinned FD indeed, but the dark tip of the bill puzzles me. THAT dark tip was what made me say...if I'm not mistaken. My captures of it doesn't have the dark tip too.

I would say that it's a juvenile black-chinned fruit dove.

I tend to agree that it is Black-chinned Fruit Dove:

Both photos are leclancheri. Immature forms. The first photo is of a younger bird, judging from the paleness of the undertail coverts barely visible off to the left. Impossible to sex at this stage of development. The bill of the immature forms starts out dark and progressively lightens into the yellow of the adult starting from the bill insertion (i.e., the bill tip is the last part to go yellow).
