Got a text late saturday night from Mark inviting me to tag along Palay Palay together with awesome birders RD Nabong, sir Ely, Edu and DenAlfaro. Good thing my vehicle is available the next day otherwise I'd be wondering had I not come. I had always desired to shoot this kite on flight and I havent made any decent ones til this one. I have improved my BIF on this species and went home very happy. The BIF shot is still too far in a not so ideal lighting condition. There is more to be desired on this species though. ;D Brahminy Kite, Palay Palay Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L, Manfrotto 755XB/Gimbal, 1x2 pounds "rice" bag Shot @ f5.6, 1/1250", ISO400, 60% pixels wasted Brahminy Kite, Palay Palay Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L, Manfrotto 755XB/Gimbal, 1x2 pounds "rice" bag Shot @ f5.6, 1/500", ISO400, 50% pixels wasted farm3.static.flickr.com/2469/4086964943_822ab6f943_o.jpg[/img]Brahminy Kite, Palay Palay Canon 50D, EF 400mm f5.6L, Manfrotto 755XB/Gimbal, 1x2 pounds "rice" bag Shot @ f5.6, 1/1600", ISO400, 70% pixels wasted

Those are already quite good in-flight shots of the Brahminy, Toto. This bird is so hard to expose coz it usually comes out only in mid-day through early afternoon - when light is quite harsh most of the time. I've been trying to get properly exposed and sharp images myself with this one. :-)

A longer and brighter lens would also help capturing these handsome predators.

Congratulations Toto !!! Bobby is right, it is VERY HARD to get good captures of this bird. I've had lots of opportunities to take photos of this bird and up to now, I still don't have an excellent photo of it.
