Thanks sir Neon! The Flowerpecker was alone when I saw it. But my gut feel is that others have reached our islands and are now gaining weight and cleaning up getting ready for a photoshoot with you! I just noticed two feathers sticking out from each side.. what are those?

Philippine Falconet. With this one comes a nice story... As the longer lens wielding birdnuts were taking pics from the road, Mark and I walked to get a closer shot. As we were taking pics, the falconet suddenly dove down and swooooped about five feet away from me and Mark!!!! Then returned to the perch and voila! It had an insect in it's grasp. This gave a clue that we were almost invisible to it so I went back and fetched my 2X TC and here is the best I got.. Camera: Nikon D90 Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320) Exposure: -0.38 ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV no aperture reading as the TC totally kills the metering and readings..

Probably because of the number of raptors flying around?

i have seen 3 species of raptors all day long. There are so many mini falcon over there and probably that was the case. I dunno. Maybe we are not so lucky in the morning. Birding for me and Dennis always starts everytime we decide to pack and time to call it a day. The magic phrase for us is always "tara .. uwian na!" ;D but as you see, I reach home almost 8:30pm already haha.
