Not much birds at Makiling today, plus it was so humid that one could perspire a river even when in the shade. To save the trip, I took potshots at TeLyds' favorite creatures, then stuffed myself full with Aviles bulalo on my way back to the city to recoup the fluids I lost as sweat. ;D ;D ;D CAPTURE INFORMATION: Mt. Makiling, Philippines, June 18, 2009, Canon 5D2 (FW 1.1.0) + Sigmonster (Sigma 300-800 DG) + Canon 2x TC + Sennheiser MKE 400 mic, 1600 mm, Manfrotto 475B/3421 support, manual exposure in available light, f/18, 1/60 sec, ISO 400-640, 1920x1080 capture processed and resized to 1280x720, noise/hiss in audio cleaned up a bit.

Very nice Ka Romy. The first butterfly, Hebomoia glaucippe the Orange Tip Butterfly, is the hardest to photograph. It does not keep still. The next one is the Zethera pimplea and the three others are the Hypolimnas bolina, very territorial. Thanks for taking notice of butterflies. telyds

Thanks for taking notice of butterflies. telyds Thanks TeLyds.... you really know your butterflies! The first one is always moving, so I pre-focused on a bunch of flowers and hoped that one will visit that. One did! I actually slowed down that clip to 33% of normal so we can see its movement well. The last species is indeed very territorial - it chased away any intruding butterflies, even damsel flies.
