Hello (Ms ?) butterflywatcher, As I understood from the other thread, one of your passion is taking photos of butterflies. And as promised, I am posting here two of my butterfly pictures taken from two different butterfly farms here in Costa Rica. Thank you very much Ariel for the nice photos. The butterfly is the famous Monarch butterfly, from the Danaid family, (Danaus plexippus). Our local version is the Danaus chrysippus. The empty chrysallis (we use cocoon for moths, pupa or chrysallis for butterflies) is not the Monarch's shell. This may belong to another nice butterfly, maybe a Papilio. , a swallow tail. Watch out for the glassy winged one and the Blue Morpho butterflies. They are the most beautiful in Costa Rica. You can call me Telyds. That's what everybody calls me here.
