This was in Sierra Madre, Nueva Ecija. I stopped to look at this because I thought it was a bird. Then, I thought it was a leaf. Now I'd like to know .. What is it?? iso 640, 5.6, 1/800 Canon 50d + 400 mm

Lovely looking Lizard Sylvia. Have you tried shooting at shutter 1/400 with the 50d+400/5.6? I think you can bump down the ISO to say 100 or 200.
OT: Do you have an entry for tomorrow night? Will plain idol be available tomorrow?

Thanks Tina! You can id lizards too?!?! Woh! Whatta talent! From afar, this lizard looked very leaf-like. Paolo -- this was one of those "click a lot first, look at settings you were on later" situations! It jumped away before I could adjust the camera.

Yeah Plain Master Idol Tina can ID Lizard too!!! And she's at par with the expert at National Museum of the Philippines, as this email from my sister Grace will attest. "According to Dr. Arvin Diesmos of the National Museum of the Philippines it's an agamid from the Genus Bronchocela (same as the lizard that you photographed from Los Banos that you also had requested for ID). He's not quite sure of the species but for now you could tell your friend that it's a Bronchocela cf. cristatella."

Thanks Toto! Thanks Te Lyds, it IS the same as Mark's color-changing lizard. I think it changed the color of its tail to make it look like a stem.
Neon -- thanks for asking your sister to id it!
