Yup, Rey... finally, a butterfly video by the Ka Mastah. This is the male Hypolimnas bolina, a Nymphalid. Larvae feeds on camote tops. The male is very territorial. When it perches, it will always turn around and face the clearing or hazy figures like a photographer. Butterflies have multi-lenses and can't focus well. When it senses another male butterfly in the area (maybe with its antennae) it will chase it. Oftentimes, it goes back to the same spot where it recently perched. The upper-wings have white spots that turn iridescent blue under sunlight.
In appreciation of this first video and more coming after, I am gifting the Ka Mastah with a Chinese Parasol plant on a pot.
Happy, tely:Ds
