These insects (no idea on its ID) are about 5-6 mm across the wings. Always perched unmovingly on blades of grass in my garden in the morning, they're a perfect candidate for a MF macro set-up. I looked for one perched near a branching grass stalk so I can capture twin Vs in the composition. ;D 40D + 100 2.8 macro + Sigma 1.4x TC + 37 mm ET, 1/5 sec, f/8, ISO 320, MF via Live View, manual exposure in available light (no flash), geared head/tripod**BIRDNUT WELFARE NOTE - No birder's beerbelly was harmed during the awkward positioning of the gear near the ground for this capture. **

Woohooo!! Nice addition to the species collection of your biodiversity hot spot garden. Great work on the DOF. Wow!! now you are putting TC on your macro lens, have you tried stacking them since you are on MF and LV? ;D
I got all other equipment except for the 100mm 2.8...once I get used to my new lens will try the micro world as well.

Thanks, Neon..... I've tried stacking the TCs, but the IQ takes a big hit (short lenses aren't really designed to handle TCs).
