Saw this teeny weeny spider crawling on the hood of my pickup truck, so I rushed inside the house and got my macro gear. ;D 1DM2 + 100 2.8 USM macro, 1/125 sec, f/8, ISO 640, AI servo, Sigma EF-500 DG Super flash in M mode (1/32 power), hand held: Surprising to me that the "smooth" paint surface of the hood looks textured at the zone of focus if magnified this much.

Great macro shot Mastah. Love the composition, the reflection on the paint really made this a winner for me.

Great macro shot Mastah. Love the composition, the reflection on the paint really made this a winner for me. Thanks, Rey! Here's a bizarre-looking one I got this morning..... it has 3 horns, with the middle one running the whole length of its body. Good that it's only about 10 mm in total length, otherwise I'll be forced to shoot it with a Sigmonster + 2x TC from a safe 100 meters away. ;D 1DM2 + 100 2.8 USM macro, 1/160 sec, f/8, ISO 400, AI servo, Sigma EF-500 DG Super flash in M mode (1/16 power), hand held:Can anybody ID this thing?

My from-out-of-town-sister-in-law's borrowing it at the moment and she swears she can see sweet potato growing out from the fenders already.

Thanks, Rey and Ding! (Ding, you obviously remember your teacher with much fondness. ;D) Uh oh, I think I got that spider's cousin! :-) Haha! A mean shot Bobby, that size of prey should keep the Cebuano spider sated for a while. ;D

Beautiful catch Mastah!! It's one of the thousands of Leafhopper species. It's the cousin of the "kuliglig" Cicada.
