When I heard Ka Mastah was going to test the 7D, I instantly grabbed the chance to see and feel for myself how the 7D would behave on my "Bigberta". Ka Mastah setup the 7D and I just fired away, first impression was this body locks on its AF, only one or two OOF shots from a burst of about 5 shots. Pictures tell it all...more to come I just got the DPP upgrade downloaded 7D + 600 L f4 IS, f5.6, 1/1600 sec, ISO 200, Tripod-Gimbal support, Almost FF cropped to 15x12 ratio and re-sized.

The 7D Rocks?? Hmmmm. Either the Japanese model Osawa got was out-of-whack, or my technique ain't good enough! With a busy background , I captured these shots with a 50D, but was unable to lock on using the 7D: I sure hope you get that thing, cause Canon's QC seems to be very spotty with this model. :-)

So it really rocks eh? If Ka Mastah and you would endorse 7D, then let's ask Canon to give us a program for it. I'm sure not a few will go for Santa this Christmas for this body!

Neon, I think you are working for Canon. Pictures like this will sell lots of 7Ds.

Well... it might be only those units produced for North America were not good enough. Here's my rendition of a GIF (gull-in-flight) with the 7D before returning it.

Yup it rocks!!! Here's a static shot of a BS that landed just in front of us, it was just far enough for the MFD of the 600 for it to focus... 7D + 600 L f4 IS, f5.0, 1/1600 sec, ISO 200, Tripod-Gimbal support Power just came back in our area, will PP some more and show why it rocks!!

Here's a long range shot a FF and a cropped...Adjusted levels and color, cropped and re-sized. Ka Mastah knows how far this shot was it's around ~100m more or less. 2 other shots from the same burst were this sharp as well. 7D + 600 L f4 IS, f5.0, 1/1600 sec, ISO 200, Tripod-Gimbal support, I'm not sure if the production 7D we tested is the standard or a freak. We should ask any 7D we are going to acquire to be tested first, if it's possible.

Yes!! Now that's what I wanted to see! Please note the AF settings and serial number of the camera you used Neon - we might be able to determine certain batches that work great :-)

Good point. I don't wanna belong to " lemon " batch. I do hope December stocks belong to a different batch.

OMG! Those ducks are all crystal catch!
When Mark and I got our 400s yesterday (Friday), Toni told us he'l be making a program for PBPF for the 7D!
With your discovery.... I will now write to Santa to bring me a 7D!
