Tina, Sylvia and I went to Villa Escudero in Quezon yesterday. I took a bunch of pictures and I liked these two the most. I was on the water for a good part of the day and my feet were soaked because I was wearing sandals. On a technical note I changed my tripod to the heavy 475B and it seemed very stable despite the running water. I set it low, around sitting height for me to get a lower, more in the water point of view, to get the water motion and wavelets. The running water on the wagtail shot made it even more interesting! Great captures!

For a small bird the IBKF has his mouth full. What a wonderful shot. I wonder how much time you spent in capturing this one. As for the Grey Wagtail its a beautiful picture. Well done Tonji. Mabuhay.

Sir Tonji.. wading in the river and soaking your feet was well worth it! I love the wagtail also as I know how hard it is to capture this avian on film (i have tried and failed... )
Allow me to use your term of description.. WINNER!

OMG! What a shot! Both are excellent, but I like the wagtail better, the drama is in the water! Congrats! What time were these taken, Tonji?

Thanks Edu, Alain, JP, Neon and Romy. Glad you liked the pics. Always trying to learn from the forum. Alain, we arrived around 6:30am and had a nice breakfast, its a filipino buffet. Sylvia and I walked around and drove around first before going to the water area. I believe that was around 9:30am onwards. They serve a nice lunch buffet (grilled pork, fish, some vegetables, pancit, banana Q, and sago and gata with brown syrup) in the area so you can take pics thru lunch. Sylvia and Tina wore rubber boots. I wore hiking sandals. Don't wear long pants. There was also a mangrove blue, a pair of grey streaked flycatchers and a pair of magpie robins in the same spot. This pic shows another place we saw it perch.

The IBKF with the fruits is so great! its just me here -- for your possible consideration only, -- how about a crop on the a rule of thirds topway cut about midway between the head and the top edge?

Thanks doc and ron. Ron- Hehe, Cropping the pic might also work. Just wanted to show that the bird is tiny so I showed it this way. Thanks for looking.
