Last weekend we were in Coastal Lagoon and Candaba.
Coastal Lagoon, Saturday morning. We met Edu Lorenzo and had a nice morning taking pictures.
This bird had a nice reflection which Edu was admiring. I also liked the pose of the Egret in this picture. The position of the neck and the bend of the leg as well as the wake it made as it walked.

Candaba, Sunday morning.
Sylvia and I left early to see if we could actually enter the area and do some birding. The road is still very soft in parts but we made it thru with no problems.
This Great Egret was very close and showed its magnificent spread wings as it started to take off.

The nice early morning light made photographing easier. This baby Black-winged Stilt has such a cute expression.

I guess a 500mm with a 1.4 tc can still shoot landscapes in a place as big as Candaba. I like how this Black-crowned Night- Heron hides inside the colorful bushes. The grass, the green bush and the yellow flowers are all in and out of focus but I can see the bird with his big red eye in there hiding. Its like he is pretending he is a flower.

The Whiskered Terns were diving in the water right beside us. They hovered like kites in the wind then dove in repeatedly to get tiny fish in the water. The look of this fellow is so intent as he stares into the water. He is still dripping from his previous dive. His body is steady as his wings beat up and down.
