Since I was able to retrieve some of the files that I thought were lost due to my HDD crashing, I've been birding on hte recovered files and found some I haven't posted before. Although I've tried several time to test my rig on BIF, I wasn't really satisfied with the result until I saw this. Looks like I got everything right and getting good BIF photos with the 600 is not impossible. For a moment there I was worried that I won't get good BIF shots with this rig. 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f5.6, ISO 320, Tripod-Gimbal support, Candaba, Feb. 19, 2009, with Ka Mastah and Arnold

wow.. totally frozen in mid-air. my best guess would be 1/1200 (at least) and probably 30+ meters away to get that much detail in a 5.6's DOF at 600mm..
i stand corrected.. TRIPLE WOW pala!
