Wow nice pics Tina. Where is the so so pic? Your standards are so high! I especially like the cuckoo which I did not photograph since I only saw it a few seconds before it flew away. Haha. Nice perch on the RKF Martin. 3/4 turn just like a model.

Tina: Time to get the same tripod as Tonj has. I have the slightly heavier 055CXPRO4 and it is swell so long as the combined weight is below 8kg.
BTW have you tried using your 500 with a Extender EF 1.4x II? Your 40D should be able to still autofocus with it and add 200mm more length to your lens.

Paolo, I have the same tripod as sila Tonji. Got it before they got theirs. Yes, I have tried using a 1.4 TC with my 40D. The rufous night heron shots were all taken with a 1.4TC attached Nelson: Thank you
