Never been to that wonderful place, Nestor. But your thread reminds me to post another Birding Place in this section - Palawan! Nilo A. is the on-board authority on Bohol, let's wait for his birding stories. ;D To all brothers from the south how do you rate this place for bird watching as well as for bird photography on the scale of 10.

To all brothers from the south how do you rate this place for bird watching as well as for bird photography on the scale of 10. Hi Nestor, Normally, I rate a birding site separately for birdwatching and photography. Birdwatching: >Relatively easy to see forest birds. >Good trail system with signs and metal railings. >The road system is good and like Subic, one can bird from the car but better on foot. >Good number of endemic species Rating: 8 Photography: >Several spots good for island endemic photography although luck would play an important role here in certain time of the year. >TCs often needed for the hornbills if shooting from an open area. Rating: 7 I'm doing this on the spot and I'm sure Im not doing justice to the birding deatils/opportunities at RSNP. Let me organize my thoughts and I will post again on RSNP as birding site. Thanks. Nilo There are many options for accomodation

Hi Nilo, It would be terrific if you can come out with a short article on Bohol as a bird photo site, especially if you can include photos. Hi Romy, Yes, and thanks for the pointers. RSPL is a good site for birding but there are other places in Bohol that offer breath-taking wildlife forms including avian species. I can recommend Barangay Panadtaran, Candijay - on the southeastern board of the island which offers both migratory and resident birds. Interested? I can give details

I have never been to Bohol. I would like to see the Tarsiers and Chocolate Hills and of course go Birding. That includes taking pictures of the beautiful birds of Bohol. But due to my long lens and its weight I am limited to certain places that I can set up in one place and wait. Moving short distances once in a while to other nearby site is okay. I will not be able to walk long distances to search for them. Please PM me, if you guys have any suggestions and if you would like to join me. Salamat po.
