Taken from a boat. My guide was very good and I was fortunate enough to come this close. 40D 200mm f/6.3

Nice Heron and environment Ariel. It's good that you didn't spooked the bird. Level the horizon and crop accordingly ... I feel like falling off the boat. Hehehe.

Thanks Guys!
Here in CR, there are really plenty of birds to be photographed. There is even a company that offers a course on Bird Photography. With your big guns such as 500mm or more, you can capture truly beautiful bird pictures here.
This picture was taken in Tarcoles River. The river also has plenty of crocodiles around. There are companies nearby that offer bird tour in the early morning and late in the afternoon. The tour costs around $60 including a guide and a boat. During one of my trips there last year, I chanced upon a team from National Geographic filming documentaries about the place.
Regards to all. Ariel

That was nice with a 200mm. Its nice to go there for the birds but the cost of one trip in pesos there would be good to bird here for several years. Lets see more of the colorful birds. Take the pictures for us to see the beautiful birds of Costa Rica. At least we get to them thru your lens. Well done Ariel. Mabuhay.
