I went to visit my electrician today to pickup my pajero. After the usual automotive chit chat, a flowerpecker call got my attention. Around 8 red keeled flowerpeckers were feeding on an aratiles tree right beside his shop. I wasted no time in getting my rig up and started shooting... its a good thing i brought my gear today. Nikon D3 + Nikkor 500mm f4 VR + TC14eII, Manual exposure, F8, ISO400, 1/180, +.3, @700mm, Manfrotto 393 +3421

How true the song, "At the end of every storm is a Golden Sun". You must have been a "Boys Scout" to be always ready, "Laging Handa". Beautiful capture of a beautiful bird. Well done JP. Mabuhay.

What a shot, JP! Good thing to always bring your gear, indeed. You never know when or where our avian friends show up.

Agree with you Jayps, it's good you brought your gears today otherwise you won't be able to create this wonderful image. This must be the best I've seen of this species. Congrats.

Just like what Chase Jarvis said, the best camera is the one that's with you.
What makes the D3+500VR combo good if it's home inside a dry box?
Congrats JP, a wonderful capture of the rkfp. Your rig delivers too! ;D
