Some of the big birds that I was able to photograph comes from the stork and hornbill family of birds. Although they were about a 100 yards away but because of their size I was able to take some pictures to see their features which I would like to share with you. All pictures were taken with 5DM2, EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS L Lens with Canon Extender 2X II. Handheld Saddle-billed Stork (Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis) is a large wading bird in the stork family. They grow to about 5 feet tall with a wingspan of 9 feet and weights between 5-7 kilos and that is about the size of a big turkey. ISO 400, 1/250, f11 (Inmature Saddle-billed Stork) ISO 400, 1/500, f11 (Mature Saddle-billed Stork) with Sacred Ibis Southern Ground-hornbill, (Bucorvus leadbeateri) with Sacred Ibis, Hammerkop flying over its head, and several White-headed Lapwing. ISO 400, 1/500, f11 ISO 400, 1/500, f11

Nice shot sir Ely, wow it amazes me how productive was your trip. Its a goverment reserve and the size is about 9,000 hectares. Hunting is definitely not allowed. There is a natural food chain like the Impalas multiply faster than the Lion, Leopard, and Hyaena so there is always food for them to hunt. There are a lot of insects, caterpillars, lizards, fruit trees and fish that the birds can eat. We were very fortunate to have seen a lot of animals and birds.
