So what FL is everyone bringing to attach to the 7d? I'd imagine that everybody wants to try their own lens on the 7D - mostly 400 5.6L and 100-400, and Rey's 500 f/4.5L. However, during crunch time, the 500 f4 (naked or with 1.4x TC) will probably be mounted. Of course, we're dying to shoot the 800 L too if either you or Ely is around. Neon is in jail, so we can't shoot his 600 f4.

Just to share..... beta testers last year who shared their DVDs with CMPI were given a nice pricing on the 5D2 - about PHP 117,800 for the first batches in RP, at a time when the street price was PHP 125K-128K. Not sure if CMPI will do the same this time, but I'm knocking on wood that they will.

Philip Bloom just had some hands-on with a pre-prod unit, and he shot 720/50p then overcranked it to 25p (this is effectively a 50% slomo)..... looking great!!!

UPDATE - 3:50 pm, Sept. 04
There's a slight change of schedule - we'll field test the camera in Candaba on the 11th and 12th only (each a whole day affair). So we're closing the listing now to the following PBPF shooters to keep the group manageable. The camera will be actually with me till the 13th (Sunday), but I need to do some controlled tests and besides I've no driver on Sunday so I can't make it to Candaba on that day.
GROUPINGS:
Friday (Sept. 11)
Meet-up: 5:00 am, Petron NLEX
1. Sigmonster Tamer 2. Rey S.A. 3. Bong Nabong 4. Ely Teehankee 5. Paolo D. (if he's coming)
Saturday (Sept. 12)
Meet-up: Toto G. to set, the Sigmonster Tamer will stay overnight at Candaba and will just meet the group on site
1. Sigmonster Tamer 2. Toto Gamboa 3. Den Alfaro 4. Norman 5. Alain Pascua 6. William (if he's coming)
To those in the Saturday group and to Paolo (if you're joining), please PM me your cfone numbers so coordination will be easier. I already have the cfones of the Friday group (except Paolo).
If anybody listed will back out, please notify me immediately so we can accept replacements if there are any.

Hi Toto, thanks. I would certainly take you up on your offer. Romy, the shooting schedule is longer on Friday? Will the Saturday group also shoot up to late in the afternoon? I'm a shooting addict and would very much like to maximize the opportunity. And I'm available on both dates. Thanks.

But you might not be able to handle the 7D much outside of your alloted day. If you just wish to shoot the camera you bring, no problem.... you can come on Friday too. Just hook up with those who'll bring their car on that day, as mine is full of gear.

With Plan A (Mayor's resthouse) in place, we'll have the following contigencies in case the access trail is really impassable.
Plan B - stand of trees along the trail to the mayor's resthouse (near the small fish pond).
Plan C - Paralaya (less birds and no shade, but open in any weather)

UPDATE - 11:55 am, Sept. 9th
We are closely monitoring the weather situation, but as it looks now, Simang/Mayor's resthouse is a near impossibility. Even if the skies will clear tonight and the sun will shine the whole day tomorrow, I seriously doubt if we can get through the last km of trail.
The only site left where we have a good chance of seeing BIFs is Paralaya. One thing going for us is there are more birds in this place if water level is high.
If we will not avail ourselves of this slot, I'm not sure when we can get hold of the lone 7D unit from CMPI again. So we'll try to save this schedule as much as we can, even if we have to settle for Paralaya (where the road is all weather).
I'll post a final update before noon tomorrow if we can make it to Paralaya.

Thanks for the update mastah. The weather isn't getting any better. If by destiny, Paralaya is our ground zero for testing the 7D, I'd like to ask for directions on how to get there. If a GPS coordinate is available, much better
