Saw this guy at Eaton Canyon in Pasadena (first time I've seen this species here - and I've been birding this places regularly for about 5 years now). Y'all might wanna check the accompanying story at ornithographer.blogspot.com (Title: Tanager angst) 5D2, 500mm + 1.4X, ISO-1000 (on auto) f9, 1/640, tripod/gimbal head

Congratulations on your new find, Bob! Same here, my first encounter with this species was last May this year at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. After that I can find no more. Might be a passerby.

What a colorful bird. I just saw a picture of a green Tanager at Wikipedia. This yellow & red is like the colors of Spain. Beautiful shot. Well done Bob. Mabuhay.
