I would like to help WBCP's campaign for the protection of Mt. Palay-palay (Pico de Loro) and have started writing an article for press release. I checked the posts on Birding Places and Mt. Palay-palay has no thread. I will be needing a couple of sharp photos like the Rufous Hornbill, the Falconets or if you have plants or landscape shot along the trail. Photos will be credited to your name. Thanks in advance. telyds
PS. Recently, Tonji and Sylvia reported seeing hunters in Palay-Palay and also indiscriminate cutting of trees for firewood by locals in the area. Also very recently, (was it in this forum?) that someone reported seeing the Rufous Hornbill in Pico de Loro trail. This beautiful mountain that cares for a very diverse flora and fauna should be protected. Any person who takes part in its destruction do not honor God who is the owner and creator of all. I will not apologize for being preachy but this is the truth: "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it." (From the Psalm of David 4:1). But he allows us to enjoy what He has so freely shared. Let us join hands in caring for His creation.

Hi Lyd. I don't have pictures of the birds that you mentioned but I am willing to have what I consider my best picture taken in Palay Palay to be use for the thread that you proposed. This is the picture of the Greater Flameback Woodpecker taken in Palay Palay. You have taken the first step and I am in full support of your endeavor. I would like to join hands with you and everyone else who are concerned with the preservation of this last and beautiful mountain of Cavite in preserving this mountain and all that is in it. With God's help nothing is impossible. Mabuhay.

Thank you very much Ely for being so sensitive with the present environmental issues. No amount of harping about what is happening around us will change if we just discuss it among ourselves. These photos should be seen by everyone. The beautiful captures will shout their plight to the world. Let it be. Mabuhay ka! telyd

TeLyds, do you need the bird photos to be actually taken at Palay-palay? Or this could be taken elsewhere, as long as the species ranges in Palay-palay?

Oh, oh... yes, Ka Mastah, does not have to be taken in Palay-palay. Thanks for asking. I think I will be needing to write more than 1 article so that all the broadsheets are covered.

An afterthought. Maybe a photo exhibit of the Birds of Mt. Palay-Palay can be pursued. Before, I had reserved the Podium for a Bird photo exhibit but I cancelled. I was probably dreaming then, but not anymore now. This time, there is a strong advocacy, I am sure we can even get sponsors. Podium offered the place for free. I will get a list of the birds of Mt. Palay-Palay from WBCP and maybe it will be good if we can start a thread... What is the ideal number of photos for a good photo exhibit? telyds

I would like to support this endeavor as well. Never birded in Palaypalay. Don't even know where it is though I've been to Caylabne a number of times (in my non-birding days) and am aware it's somewhere there. If someone can come up with a list of Palaypalay birds and any of my photos will do, just let me know. My photos are in balarila.smugmug.com/animals

Hello telyds, I am touched by your endeavor. How I wish you could also spend a little interest in other bird sites. I knew of a small village (sitio) who is interested in preserving its birds and the associated pockets of forest. I already conducted avian assessment of the area and it has a lot of birds (31 species)
