At the suggestion of our Maestro Romy, I installed a color calibrator on my computer. This picture was PP after I have calibrated the computer. Photo taken on the way to Caylabne. Greater Flameback, Chrysocolaptes lucidus, Canon 5DM2, EF 800mm F5.6 IS L Lens, Grip mat on car window, ISO 1600 1/125 @f8

Wow beautiful capture, Ely. Best that I've seen so far of this rarely photograph WP. Looks like you have mastered a very good Post Processing workflow. Congrats.

Wow great capture. I saw one in Negros few months ago but fail to make the shot. Panic due to it's beauty. Shock shock.
I'm going back to site next month hope I can capture one.
Post some more .... Love this

Thank you Rey, Ron, Drboymac. Once in a while we catch the right moment, at the right bird, at the right place, and at the right exposure. Luck plays a big part for such occassions.

Beautifu, ELy. And you managed to really focus on the eye with some catchlight. What color calibration device do you use?

Congrats Ely! Great pose, especially the tail! I've been reading recently about how woodpecker's tail is specially adapted to be used as a support when it moves up and down trees. I think your photo demonstrates this really well!

Thank you Ding. I am using eye-one display 2 which I consulted Romy on before I decided to buy it. I am very happy with it as the colors has improved on my monitor. Thank you Romy for all the advice that you have given me especially during the times that I needed it most. Thank you Sylvia and I read about the use of the tail at Wikepedia. I was pleasantly surprise when I saw that my picture had that amply displayed. This is a beautiful Sunday. Mabuhay.

Thank you very much Toto, Manny, and Nestor (I like your smilie cartoon). I appreciate all your kind comments.
Salamat po Tina. You are the third veteran after Romy & Rey who said the same thing as you did. I am relatively new in this forum having made my first posting on March 7 this year so I have not seen the other postings of this bird. I guess I was lucky that day to have captured her with the right settings.
