Bert and I spent a wonderful overnight stay in VE. The gracious lady first showed us the White breasted wood swallows. There were four but two learned to fly away. I was right under the tree bec. to go farther out would give me backlit. CANON 40D 300mm F4L IS handheld 0.017 sec (1/60) Aperture: f/13.0 ISO Speed: 200 We found out that Marikit and Matikas were feeding on insects, too. Bert spotted the two, which I would have missed, if he were not around. Maybe he is a better birder. He's got sharper eyes and beautiful bird calls. He can challenge Brad Pipit aka Balerila to a Whistling Idol contest. My shots where very poor- it was still dark and the pair, too far away for my 300mm. lyd

Interesting expression on the faces of the fledgelings. May you have many more bird outings together! Cheers!

Yer right, Ka Mastah. They were like saying "What are you nosing about? You have no business here!" The tree is along the path where the cars/caritons pass. There's a lot of movement there but it seems they are not bothered even if someone stands under the tree, for as long as one does not show interest of any kind. With the 300mm aimed at them or even by just circling the tree looking up, oh they know you are up to something. telyd

Love this TeLyds! They're so mad, but still so cute. Especially the one on the right with the fluff on its head!

I think you were in their territory and you did not have any peace offering like worms or insects to appease them. Nice capture Lyd. Mabuhay.
