on our way to conti's these blue-tailed bee-eaters were happily crooning and seems to be feeding their young in the burrows..... nikon d200 + nikkor 80-400VR/f4.5-5.6 iso 400, manual exposure, auto-focus, 3d-matrix metering f8 @ 1/200s, hand-held right-face!!! left-face!!! had a fun time shooting and almost forgot that i had the reflex-mirror 500 with me nikon d200 + reflex nikkor 500/f8 iso 400, manual exposure, manual-focus, 3d-matrix metering f8 @ 1/400s, hand-held (propped against car pillar) "is this a bee?" "yup, 'tis!"

LIke the bee-eaters. I have this little rule in me that says the photo of a bird should show its name. For example, a Yellow-bented bulbul should show the bird's rump. A White-throated kingfisher or Golden-bellied Flycatcher taken from the back is not good (throat/belly not seen). But your bee-eater really takes the cake!
Also, amazing feather clarity on the mirror lens. I find the tapioca bokeh amusing.

never saw it that way ding but you're right! you either love or hate the mirror lens for its bokeh. thanks romy, being "in-absentia" gave me serious withdrawal symptoms of chirping. just had to go back in the wild and get the bird flu back alive! hehehe. seriously, i've been dying to to go out. am glad myself that i could find some time. thanks ed. hope i could get better quality lifers next time.
