This one landed within 30 feet from my position. I slightly missed the manual focus on this one (critical focus plane was placed a bit to the rear of the subject), as I had to take the footage in haste. Everybody knows how skittish these little critters are. ;D Common name : Flaming SunbirdScientific name: Aethopyga flagrans (a Philippine endemic, male) Habitat: Forest, edge and second growth below 1350 m. Makiling, Philippines, June 10, 2009, Canon 5D2 (FW 1.1.0) + Sigmonster (Sigma 300-800 DG) + Canon 2x TC + Sennheiser MKE 400 mic, 1600 mm, Manfrotto 475B/3421 support, manual exposure in available light, f/16, 1/60 sec, ISO 5000, 1920x1080 capture processed and resized to 1280x720, noise/hiss in audio cleaned up a bit.
