Barely 3 months into this wildlife/birding hobby, I don't have much bird in flight to share. For the meantime, I'm just reading all the tips and techniques discussed in this forum and put them into practice once in a while. Here's what I have taken so far. Thanks for looking. All pics taken by K10D+Sigma 100-300mm+1.4xTC F5.6, 1/1000s, ISO400, 118mm, Manual Metering F6.7, 1/1000s, ISO200, 150mm, Aperture Priority F8.0, 1/800s, ISO400, 118mm, Manual Metering F8.0, 1/800s, ISO400, 125mm, Manual Metering Cheers, Conrad

Great gallery of BIF's, Conrad! Of course all these are handheld, right?

incedible BIFs conrad! I love the last one the most. These images of BIF with leaves for backrgound are too few and gives it a sense of rarity.
Thank you for sharing.

I like the mallard. The colours makes it appear as if it's painting.
One thing about sea gulls. They are great target practice.

I like the way you take your pictures. They are all well taken and sharp. I wish I can take pictures like that. It looks like you were very close to the birds. How far away would you say? Well done Conrad. Mabuhay.

outstanding BIFs. I like the third photo very much! Hi Ron, sorry for the late response. Been very busy lately with some family photo events . I'm glad you like them and thanks for the nice comments. nice shots, to think these picture were taken handheld Thanks Binot, appreciate your comments. I like the way you take your pictures. They are all well taken and sharp. I wish I can take pictures like that. It looks like you were very close to the birds. How far away would you say? Sorry but I am not really good in estimating distances but basing on the focal length used, the birds are not that really far. As Canajun said, seagull is the best target practice for BIF. They flying pattern is predictable. If I have the time and chance for a particular subject, I always aim for the quality than quantity of my photos. If I got blurry pics or not satisfied with the outcome, always back to the drawing board for me and learn what went wrong. Then more practice, reading and learning more techniques from this forum . Thank you and appreciate your time to comments. Cheers Thank you. Cheers, Conrad

I just notice it, the initials BIF means "Birds In Flight" but when I browsed again your shots I had this "aha" in mind which told me "Birdshots In Frame". The frames add up to the beauty of these compositions
