This is my first DSLR photo. Finally bought one. I settled for the Canon XSi (450D) instead of the newer T1i (500D) because I can't pass up the current instant rebate Canon is offering. Since this is my first DSLR, I thought that I'd prove myself first before buying a better one. ;D Anyway, here's the photo. I've got a lot to learn about photography so C&C are most welcome and aggressively solicited. Hehehe.... (Would have placed this on Sir Romy's new thread but then again, even I know that there's a lot to comment on this one. So, I'll defer posting there until I come up with better photos.)Canon XSi, EF-S 55-250mm IS, 1/160, f/6.3, 194mm, ISO 200, handheld, cropped, sharpened By the way, for those looking for a back-up body and feels that the XSi will do, Canon is offering a $200 instant rebate until June 11, 2009 when you purchase the Canon XSi kit (with EF-S 18-55mm IS) together with EF-S 55-250mm IS OR a $300 instant savings when you buy the Canon 50D with the EF-S 18-200mm IS lens. Bought mine from Amazon because B&H and Adorama adjusted the price of the combo so you end up only with around $100 savings.

Before anything else, congrats with your first dslr Eric! ;D
Nice Robin Eric. Though the bird is a little dark on my work monitor. You can increase the ISO still in situations like that. Looks like the focus is spot on. Was this handheld or on a tripod? If handheld and with shutter speed that low, you'll miss the shot if the bird suddenly moves. Again, you can increase the ISO so you'll get a higher shutter speed.
;D

Thanks Ted for the comment. I need them and will keep them in mind. Hehehe....
The ISO on this shot is 200 and was taken handheld (added this to the EXIF data). It was starting to rain when I took this so the light is not too good.
Definitely needs some PP which I still need to learn too. ;D
