Wency and I were finally able to visit Coron, Palawan for the first time. Thank you Rey for sharing the hotel and bird guide info. If you ask me, Coron can easily be called "Pitta Territory" because there seems to be a pitta calling out almost everywhere you go for birding ;D Hmmm come to think of it, it's also the White Vented Shama paradise because like the pitta, it's also everywhere. As expected, you were able to capture all these beautiful birds. I like the hooded pita and the common flameback because of their color combination. Congratulations Tina. I will not asked for a blow out but would welcome one if there is. Heh heh heh. Well done. Mabuhay.

Hi Tina! Nice pics of the Hooded Pitta and Common Flameback!
Looks like Palawan and Sierra Madre are now the favorite birding sites! It's hard to admit that they are our last frontiers.

Wow, wonderful, wonderful Idol Tins. Very extra ordinary images as I expected. You caught both the Pitta and Shama out in the open which is an amazing feat in itself. That's why you are my idol forever. If I can get just the White-vented Shama and it's nice as this, it will be worth the trip. More, more.....

Miss TINA IDOL has a reason to be really very, very happy. Can't help it, I have to share, but it was a Bird-day treat galore for plain IDOL last Friday. To the #1 Lady Bird Photographer of the Philippines who has always been the first to greet almost every one in this forum Happy Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU (everyone now sing!). I did not want Tina mabulabog during her Coron escapade, kaya Belated greetings. May all your wishes come true. (include na all the endemics you have not seen yet ). Waiting for more... telyds

I find all these birds interesting. Nice. All lifers. Great gallery as usual Plain Idol. As TeLyds said, "Naks." So when are we going to Coron? ;D My goodness the Pitta here compared to the one we took in Makiling, oh man. Its like its wearing a shinny sharkskin suit cool.
