To continue the birdnuts taking pics at night thread... I always wondered why some herons are called Night Herons when I can see them during the day. I got the idea of taking the Rufous Night Heron at night with the lights of Roxas Blvd as the background. I knew I would have a few minutes of some kind of light right after the sun went down the horizon, thankfully the herons arrived at sundown and I had time for a few photos. It was literally just a few minutes cause it went super dark really fast. Photo taken in Manila Bay 5/20/09 at 6:22pm after sunset. The orange light is from the street lights in Roxas Blvd. 50D 100-400, 400mm, ISO 800, 1/80, f5.6 handheld

The RNH looks kind of surprise that you are taking his picture at night. Its something different and we are always looking for something that will make the picture interesting. Well done Tonji. Hope to see some more.

Thanks for the nice comments, Romy, Ely, William, Edu and TeLyds. Edu, hehe I told you I take pics at night. Its a sickness. Sadly there is no doctor, nor is there a cure. Sure you can use it as your wallpaper. I would be honored even if you just used it for a few hours. Hehe. TeLyds, I love it when you say "Naks" haha. Sylvia and I always say that to each other when we look at the pictures we take at the end of the day.
