It was one of those days when everything seemed to turn out well. Almost every other bird that I saw appeared to be posing specifically for me, not in the usual body-lenghtwise aspect but a full-frontal stance. Western Bluebird 40D, 500mm+1.4X, ISO-500, 1/640, f9, tripod+gimbal head, raw Song Sparrow 40D, 500mm+1.4X, ISO-500, 1/640, f9, tripod+gimbal head, raw Lawrence's Goldfinch 40D, 500mm+1.4X, ISO-500, 1/640, f9, tripod+gimbal head, raw California Towhee 40D, 500mm+1.4X, ISO-500, 1/250, f6.3, tripod+gimbal head, raw American Robin 40D, 500mm+1.4X, ISO-500, 1/250, f8, tripod+gimbal head, raw Thanks for looking.

Excellent shots all of them, Bob! I'm just wondering on that bb, is that a part of the feather or just a weed(straw) hanging just below the breast.
