Hello everyone and Happy New Year. I'm Tony and registered yesterday. This is my very first time in bird photography although I have done lots of landscape, architectural and some wedding/fashion on the side. Going through the forum, I need to do some equipment upgrade to get serious in birding. My longest lenses are a 300mm/f4.0 and 180mm/f2.8 (to short I believe). I will be joining the Candaba trip next week and I'm sure will be getting lots of tips on bird photography.

Welcome aboard, Tony! A 300 f4 is decent enough for birding, with at least 3 here using it (Neon, Tina and Ixi). You might have to invest in at least a 1.4x TC to extend your range. Hi Jun. Welcome to the birdnut's home online Meeting place is in Candaba - no particular time either but suggest you go early so that you don't get caught in traffic since they are also celebrating the IBON EBON Festival on that day.
