Last week I joined some friends to spend weekend in Zambales for some photoshoot of nature. I got big surprise when I saw familiar birds in the area. I have seen Blue Rock-Thrust, Blue-Throated Bee-Eater, Richard's Pipit, Pied Buschat, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Striated Swallows, Pied Fantail. These are just few of the birds I saw near the beach and lake. The place where we went is called Anawin Cove. It's about 20 minutes by banca from Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales. In going there, we dropped off at Capones and Camara Islands. I have not fully explored the area but I think there are numerous forest birds in the area. I was told there are also wild Tamaraws in nearby areas, but I'm still checking the details of this. We also went to Putipot Island in Uacon, Candelaria, Zambales. These are some of the bird pics I took there: The rest of the pictures can be viewed at alainpascua.smugmug.com/gallery/7858112_vvedR#508202545_dMNwCHere are some pictures of Anawin Cove and Capones and Camara Islands: The rest of the pictures can be seen in alainpascua.smugmug.com/gallery/7841972_4eQHk#508219613_W8kS9The place offers outdoor camping, photography, beach, trekking, snorkling, and they have not yet discovered bird watching and bird photography. Regards! Alain

Wow!! Beautiful captures of both birds and Landscape views!!! Another promising place for bird photography!! Looks like the birds are not that afraid of people as compared to other places, must be a bird friendly area ;D Thanks for sharing Alain!!

Sir Alain, I think it is called Anawangin Cove (instead of Anawin Cove). Really a great place. Was there last year without a birding lens. Hoping to join once again some photog/trek tour in that place this month

Yes, it's called ANAWANGIN COVE. My mistake.
Thanks for the correction, Toto!
