A valiant animation attempt with amazing BIF stills, Neon! ;D It looks like you're as fascinated as I am in animation, so here's sharing more tips (you already got the BG great!): 1. The wing flap speed should be very close to real life (yours is a tad slower). 2. I wish the wing positions were at full extension of upstroke and downstroke, so the wings have a greater angle of stroke than captured. I grabbed a couple of frames from your post (upstroke and downstroke wing positions, couldn't copy the midstroke), then animated it in ImageReady with 0.4 sec as duration of each frame. Likewise, I chose the breast as the alignment point so the head and tail both have freedom of movement. (Note: when aligning, reduce the opacity of the upper layer so you can see the relative positions of points.) Here's the result:

Thanks Master Romy and Martin!! I was just lucky to get three frames focused, My camera was set to single shot focus at that time. When the bird flew from its perch my finger instinctively locked on the shutter button and followed the bird until the camera's buffer got full. Thanks for the tips again. I used the eyes for centering all the frames and it looks so rigid, centering on the breast area as you did made it more animated. Actually the mid stroke was the third frame but since it was a mid stroke I placed it in the middle. He he he, now whenever I get a series of BIF shots I make it into GIF so that I can put several shots into one instead of processing it separately. Cheers, Neon

Wow! Amazing what animation can do to liven up the subject. I have to learn how to do this. But first I need to have sequence shots. *sigh*

Thanks Bob and Rene. Here is another GIF slide show of some of the birds found in Trece Martires. Just a warning it is about 1 Mb so loading would take some time.
