Oriental Skylark (Alauda gulgula)Canon 40D 300mm F4L IS handlheld from inside a car, Carmela behind the wheels. The two times we went to Mt. Banahaw. Carmela made the side trip to the Hacienda loop to show us the Skylark. We were not lucky the first time. We saw only the Richard's pipit (though its was still a delight for me to shoot). The second time, Rey, Bong and Ely were behind us in two other cars and this I won't forget. Mela allowed me to shoot a couple of shots and quickly moved on to give the others behind an equal chance. Good girl! But I was fortunate to have the first shots because I was with the leader. It was a lifer for me . Thank you Mela, mucho, mucho. Very happy, Ly:d

Here's the shot I prefer, not overcropped. I always like to show the habitat. It is also good to see wildlife with breathing space. He, he. I'm claustrophobic kasi. This is for Senora Balcazar. The funky woman who's rhythm is like Marikit. go girl!

I like it TeLyds! To be able to see what their habitat is, or what they eat or simply a scale to work with such as the makahiya flower, adds another dimension to the picture. Nice capture indeed.

Thanks Mela for the encouraging remark. Next time, I'd stay awhile to hear its melodius song again. Ka Mastah should take a video of this lovely songbird. Ly:D
