Brilliant set, Sylvia... the Greater Flameback rocks! I see that the Av is f/1.8 so you must have used your D90 + 50 mm + Swarovski scope. That makes the captures of the skittish Cuckoo-Shrike and Flameback even more impressive.

Congrats on your beautiful lifers Sylvia. The Treeswift is really nice. You're fortunate to catch it in this angle because this bird is always perched way up high.

Thank you Tina, Romy, Rey, and Mark!! I'm also very pleased with that Treeswift -- I didn't realize it could look so pretty! In other pics I've seen, it looks manly, like a man with a mustache. I'm glad I listened to Tina and took lots of pictures of it!! Ha ha!! Romy -- yes, was using the scope. Accdg to the folks at the digiscoping egroup, I should just leave the camera at 1.8. Trying out that theory, so, I don't even bother with the other aperture settings for now.

Nice pictures of nice birds. I am hoping to be able to go to Subic to try out my camera. Any suggestions of good place for birding and eating? Heh heh heh.

Thank you Ed! We saw 30 kinds of birds in 2 days. Here's a link to my gallery of Subic birds tonjiandsylviasbirdlist.smugmug.com/gallery/7615138_4CjkT/1/492525898_NVzqvHi Ely -- Thanks! Tina is the Subic expert -- she is there again now! You should ask her. We were driving all around, birding from the road and we didn't go to the trail. Food -- can't remember the name of Tina's fave restaurant there. Green Vine?? If you're into Belgian Beer -- they sell beside MeatPlus!!
