Took a chance shooting the barbets and colasisi in UPD last Sunday with Bong, Doc Mando, Doc Chito and wife, and Bong's friend who wields an 800mm f5.6 L IS. Here is my share. Coppersmit Barbet (Megalaima haemacephala) D40 + 70-300 VR, 300mm, ISO 400, 1/40s, f/8, Manual Exposure, Available Light, Tripod + Gimbal Support, 100% Crop And the pair 1/30s, f/8 Colasisi (Loriculus philippensis) D40 + 70-300 VR, 300mm, ISO 400, 1/200s, f/8, Manual Exposure, Available Light, Tripod + Gimbal Support, 100% Crop

WOW Mark, these are all wonderful captures.
Me too, I have to go back to UP to take nicer photos of the colasisi and inggit ako sa barbet couple. I only have one barbet in all my pictures.

Great captures Mark!!
Looks like the barbets has stop making hole and are ready to lay and incubate the eggs. I was there this AM just heard the barbet call and didn't see it come to the hole for the hour I was casing it. Maybe I was a bit late already at 9:30am.

Yes it looks like they're ready to lay eggs, though last Sunday we observed that they're still making the hole.
