The hubby and I went to Candaba last Dec 18 to try our new scope set-up. We bought our own scope to use with a dslr after using a borrowed one with a Canon point and shoot. The birds were quite far away, too far to reach with my old set-up, a Panasonic Lumix + tc. Here are shots that the hubby took! The set-up takes some getting used to .. the scope eats up a LOT of light. He also noticed some vignetting at smaller aperture openings. Set-up also needs to be more stable. Seems to be shaking, even with a remote control. All in all though, really pleased with the results!! ;D Grey Heron 1.8, 1/1000, iso 640 2.0, 1/1000, iso 640 3.5, 1/1000. 640 Blue Tailed Bee Eater 2.2, 1/1000. iso 640 Swarovski scope + Nikon d90 .. and here are some pictures from my Panasonic Lumix + tc .. a White Breasted Water Water Hen from early in the morning 4.2, 1/800, iso 400 .. and some Blue Tailed Bee Eaters in "action" 4.2, 1/800, iso 100

Not bad at all for a first time digiscoper using your newly purchased swarovski scope. Don't remember if Tonji used RAW - if yes, I think a little sharpening will make the photos stand out more. Can't wait to try it out myself Bravo Tonji !!!!!

Very nice digiscoped shots, Sylvia..... these show why Swarovski scopes aren't cheap.
