This was a lifer for me. I was inside the house when I heard what sounded like "hoop hoop hoop". I followed the sound to this bird on a tree in front of my neighbor's house! Unfortunately, I was shooting against the light. I think that's why the picture quality is not that great. 4.5, 1/400, iso 400 Canon G9 + Leica scope 4.5, 1/400, iso 400 Canon G9 + Leica scope 5.6, 1/200, iso 100 Panasonic DMC-FZ18 + Olympus 1.7 tc 5.6, 1/200, iso 100 Panasonic DMC-FZ18 + Olympus 1.7 tc

Wow!! Congrats on the lifer!! you got it just across the street from your house!!! If you knew the story behind this bird when the first photograph of it came out and most of us were obsessed to get a photo as well, you'll cherish these photos. Ask Tina the barbet story..he he he The quality of the photo are top notch considering it's a digiscoped with a point and shoot cam. Great job as well on exposing the bird on a backlit conditions. The details are even better than the ones with the 1.7x TC, save for the vignette on the lower left.

A Barbet in your neighborhood? Wow, great opportunity to capture images of one of the most colorful birds we have. Your digiscoped photos are really good. :-)
